Training Sessions Overview

Formal and informal educators learn background information about climate change, participate in hands-on activities they will use to engage and inspire others, and practice effective communication techniques to train others to teach climate change.

Training sessions typically include a series of three to five presentations and workshops.

Science coaches and those in leadership positions gain background information to share with the teachers in their school district. Practicing effective communication to educate and inspire, they prepare to teach what they’ve learned at the training sessions to reach a larger audience.

Informal educators at museums, zoos, aquariums, camps, etc., learn to prioritize, simplify, and clarify important climate information. They practice engaging audiences, from young children to adults. They prepare stand-alone activities to provide background knowledge about climate change and pique the curiosity of their participants.

Training sessions are tailored to the institution’s circumstances and needs, and can be a combination of any of the workshops and/or presentations.
